The Alliance Française de Manille and the French Embassy in the Philippines, in collaboration with the PhilamLife Insurance Company and the support of CulturesFrance, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Air France-KLM, Veolia Water and Sofitel Philippine Plaza present Quatuor Diotima, a French classical quartet who will perform: Haydn opus 20 no.1, Dvorak Quatuor américain and Beethoven Quatuor opus no.132.
QUATUOR DIOTIMA has been performing on prestigious stages around the world and has won several prizes. The group has recorded two albums and was acclaimed “best new talent” at the Diapason d’Or in Paris. It is their aim to perform contemporary music and twentieth-century classics in the context of the Classical and Romantic string quartet tradition, and be equally immersed in the works of Beethoven, Schumann, Debussy, Janácek. On the occasion of their concert in Manila, Quatuor Diotima will conduct an afternoon workshop with student of the department of music of Universities of Manila.
