Quatuor Diotima at the Philam Life Theater
The Alliance Française de Manille and the French Embassy in the Philippines, in collaboration with the PhilamLife Insurance Company and the support of CulturesFrance, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Air France-KLM, Veolia Water and Sofitel Philippine Plaza present Quatuor Diotima, a French classical quartet who will perform: Haydn opus 20 no.1, Dvorak Quatuor américain and Beethoven Quatuor opus no.132.
QUATUOR DIOTIMA has been performing on prestigious stages around the world and has won several prizes. The group has recorded two albums and was acclaimed “best new talent” at the Diapason d’Or in Paris. It is their aim to perform contemporary music and twentieth-century classics in the context of the Classical and Romantic string quartet tradition, and be equally immersed in the works of Beethoven, Schumann, Debussy, Janácek. On the occasion of their concert in Manila, Quatuor Diotima will conduct an afternoon workshop with student of the department of music of Universities of Manila. Inihahandog ng NBDB Book Club, Linangan sa Imahe, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA), at ng Ortigas Foundation Library ang “Pangasinan: Kultura at Panulaan,” tampok ang Malagilion: sonnets tan villanelles ni Santiago Villafania.
Ang panayam ay gaganapin sa 26 Abril 2008, ika-10 ng umaga, sa Ortigas Foundation Library, 2/F Ortigas Building, Meralco cor. Ortigas Avenues, Pasig.
Tampok bilang mga pangunahing tagapagsalita sina Dr. Crisanta Nelmida-Flores ng Unibersidad ng Pilipinas at Santiago Villafania. Si Dr. Villafania ay dalubhasa sa kultura ng Pangasinan at kasalukuyang propesor sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas sa Diliman. Si Sonny Villafania, ang awtor ng tampok na aklat ang pangunahing tagapagtaguyod ng panitikan at panulaan ng Pangasinan. Ang Maligilion ay ang kanyang ikalawang koleksiyon ng mga tula.
